Who are we?
Bangiya Parishad Qatar (BPQ) is a Socio - Cultural group, affiliated by Indian Cultural Center (ICC) under the aegis of Embassy of India in Qatar. BPQ was formed by culturally oriented & socially sensitive Bengali expats in Qatar, fondly known as the Pearl of Middle East. Bangiya Parishad is the glorious achievement of the long cherished dream of the expatriate Bengali community who had started coming to this Peninsula from India for more than 40 years now.
Though started in 1996, it has been the result of a continuous process of a desire of socio - cultural relationship - to be in the motherland, away from the motherland.
The earnest enthusiasm of a few individuals to cultivate this dream, helped to connect and represent the cultural diversity of India and Bengalis staying in West Bengal, Tripura, Assam and other parts of India, in a vibrant and colorful manner.
